Joshua is Fireman & Company’s Founder and Managing Director. He has practiced law with two of North America’s largest law firms and was in-house counsel at a multi-billion dollar multinational corporation. Joshua is recognized as one of the leading experts in law firm strategic consulting and is a recognized thought leader in areas such as knowledge management and change management.
With a decade of consulting experience, Joshua has advised clients on the development of firm strategies, knowledge management, change management and client collaboration strategies. He has led complex engagements executing strategic plans, including the implementation and integration of portals, enterprise search, file, document and email management, and records management. He is a frequent speaker at law firm retreats and industry conferences.
Madison Henry Business Intelligence and Analytics Manager
Troutman Pepper
Madison Henry is the Business Intelligence and Analytics Manager for Troutman Pepper in Atlanta, GA. She sits on the Data Science and Analytics team within the firm’s Innovation department and specializes in data visualization, analysis, and dashboard design and deployment. In particular, she has expertise in investigating disparate datasets – from financials to digital analytics – for new patterns or relationships that guide real-world strategy. Her team works with Power BI, SQL, Python, Tableau, and other tools to automate analyses of internal and external information which support the firm’s administrative teams and practice groups. Before joining the legal industry, she worked as a data journalist in Houston, TX. Madison holds a certificate in data science from Georgia Tech University, a master’s degree in international business from Georgia State University, and a bachelor’s degree in political science and international affairs from the University of Georgia. When she's not crunching data, she enjoys hiking and camping.
Sukesh Kamra is Chief Knowledge and Innovation Officer at Torys and leads the knowledge and innovation practice globally. He is responsible for driving towards the highest level of efficiency by leveraging innovative technology and the effective application of process to streamline the delivery of legal service. With close to 20 years of experience, Sukesh develops new frameworks and approaches to capture and disseminate the firm’s deep knowledge to our people and our clients. He is also an instrumental figure for the firm’s Legal Services Centre.
Sukesh is an internationally recognized senior executive and the recipient of 12 prestigious awards, including Canadian Lawyer Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in Canada, ILTA's KM Professional of the Year and a Fastcase 50 Visionary Leader. He is also a fellow of the College of Law Practice Management. Sukesh holds a Yellow Belt certification in Legal Lean Sigma and Project Management. He is a certified mental health first aid officer and sits on several legal technology vendor-client advisory boards.
Tiffany leads the firm’s knowledge management (KM) and records/office services functions while chairing the firm’s internal Technology Innovation group. With over 25 years of experience in KM and research, she oversees the firm’s investigative, business and legal research as well as evaluates and implements KM tools and processes. Tiffany trains attorneys and staff on efficient research strategies; conducts contract negotiations, budgeting and supervising; and advances the performance of various legal and administrative departments by establishing and implementing valuable workflow solutions. She is also a member of the Firm’s Technology Committee. In addition to working in the legal field, Tiffany was an information specialist with McKinsey & Company, a leading management consultant firm.
David A. Rueff Jr. is a shareholder in the Jackson office of Baker Donelson and is also the Firm's Chief Client Solutions Group Officer. In this role, David is responsible for oversight of an innovation team at Baker Donelson which includes legal project management, knowledge management, pricing, practice technologies, matter data strategies, automation, AI and legal research. David regularly works with lawyers and clients to develop unique matter pricing and technology solutions, in-house corporate training on a range of innovation topics and paid consulting services.
In 2010, David was also responsible for the development of the Firm's legal project management model BakerManage® and was the first Baker Donelson attorney to implement it in his own practice. David helped to create and staff one of the first law firm Legal Project Management Offices in 2011 and guided the development of the Firm's process improvement model - BakerLeanTMand the Firm's proprietary budgeting tool - Budget Designer. David also leads a team which is responsible for administration of the Firm’s intranet solution, BakerNet, which provides access to practice forms and resources to improve the efficiency of all practice areas.
David has authored and co-authored several books and articles on legal project management, budgeting and pricing solutions, legal technology and innovation includingThe Power of Legal Project Management, a Practical Guidepublished by the ABA in November of 2021. David was also a designer and contributor to the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium’s LPM Framework and Matter Life Cycle Management process which was published in an eBook in 2022.
Prior to law school, David worked in the technology industry for a hardware and software manufacturer where he was first exposed to project management, agile and the development software applications for the engineering industry. David has been a practicing lawyer for 25 years, is PMP certified through the Project Management Institute and is certified in the Toyota Manufacturing Production System (Lean). David's legal practice included litigation, transactional matters and the administration of disaster recovery federal programs. David has staffed and managed project teams in Mississippi, New York, Texas, New Jersey and Louisiana. His experience includes the management and oversight of a program legal department that included a team of 11 attorneys and 20 paralegals.
Emily Rushing Director of Competitive Intelligence
Haynes Boone
As the Director of Competitive Intelligence (CI) for Haynes and Boone, LLP, Emily leads the intelligence, database, research, and technology teams in supporting client service, competitor and market analysis, lateral recruitment, and strategic growth. Emily and the intelligence team supports the creation, deployment, and administration of new technologies and innovation resources.
Emily has contributed to several publications, including the International Bar Association (IBA), American Bar Association (ABA), bar journals, blogs, and other legal industry periodicals. Recent speaking engagements include: AALL, Ark, SLA, ILTA, LMA, SCIP, and regional and international professional associations.
Emily holds a Juris Doctorate (JD) from the University of Houston Law Center and a Master of Information Sciences from the University of North Texas (UNT). She has served on several boards, including the UNT College of Information Leadership Board. Emily was honored by the NAACP Houston Branch with an Award for Legal Excellence for her work with the legal aid clinic.
